These terms cover two Android apps published by Chinh Luong ("we"): Aurora Launcher, a home-screen replacement, and Aurora Control, its companion Control Centre. Installing or using either app means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, uninstall the app.
The short version. The apps are yours to use for free. Ads fund them, and you can buy them away. They change settings on your phone only where Android allows it and only when you tap something. They are not made by Apple, and they are provided as they are — read the two sections at the bottom before relying on them for anything that matters.
Aurora Launcher and Aurora Control are independent products. They are not made by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way connected to Apple Inc., and not to any other operating system vendor.
"iPhone", "iOS", "iPadOS", "AirDrop" and "Control Center" are trademarks of Apple Inc. Where those words appear in the apps or on this site, they are used only to describe what a feature resembles, never to suggest that Apple made or approved these apps. The apps do not run iOS, do not turn your phone into an iPhone, and do not give you access to any Apple service.
Every icon, layout, animation and asset in both apps is our own work. Nothing is decompiled, extracted, or copied from Apple software or from any other app.
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the apps on devices you own or control, for as long as you keep to these terms. That licence is all you get — you do not acquire ownership of the software.
The free version shows ads, served by Google AdMob. Buying Remove ads stops the app requesting them.
All payments are handled by Google Play. We never see your card number, billing address, or any payment detail. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy — request them through Google Play, not through us. The purchase is tied to your Google account, so it carries across devices you sign in on, and it does not expire.
What you buy is the removal of ads from the current feature set. It is not a promise that any particular feature will exist forever, or that new features will be included at no cost.
Aurora Control changes system settings — screen brightness, rotation lock, Do Not Disturb, the ringer, auto-sync, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It does so only when you tap a control, and only through permissions you granted.
Android decides what a normal app is allowed to change, and that boundary moves between Android versions and between phone makers. Where a control is not permitted, the app opens the matching system screen instead of pretending to work. We cannot guarantee that any particular toggle will work on your device, and a control that stops working after a system update is not a defect we can always fix.
The Aeroplane mode control needs a permission Android will not grant on request. It works only if you deliberately grant it yourself from a computer over ADB. Doing that is your decision and your risk: it is a developer facility, it widens what the app is allowed to change, and you can revoke it at any time by uninstalling the app.
Aurora Control can record your screen, and optionally your microphone. Android shows its own confirmation before every recording session, and the recording indicator stays visible while it runs.
Recording people is regulated, and the rules differ by country. In many places recording a call, a meeting, or a person's voice without their consent is unlawful. You are solely responsible for what you record and for obtaining any consent the law requires. We do not receive, store, or have any access to your recordings — they are written to your phone's storage and stay there.
Aurora Launcher can host widgets published by other apps. Those widgets are made by their developers, run their code, and are governed by their terms and their privacy policies — not ours. We do not control what they display or where tapping them takes you.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue either app, or any feature in it, at any time. We will not remove a feature you have already paid for without offering a remedy. Updates are distributed through Google Play; we do not guarantee that any version keeps working on a future release of Android.
What the apps collect, what they deliberately do not collect, and who your data reaches is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
The apps are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with your device, or that any defect will be corrected.
A launcher replaces your home screen. If it fails, your phone remains usable — you can always uninstall it from Android Settings, and the system falls back to another launcher.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any loss of data, lost recordings, missed notifications, or lost profits, arising out of your use of the apps.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim — which, for the free version, is nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep every statutory right your local law gives you, and nothing here overrides those rights.
You may end them at any time by uninstalling the apps. We may end them if you breach them materially. The sections on trademarks, warranty, and liability survive.
If these terms change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes before the new version is released. Material changes are also noted in the release notes on Google Play. Continuing to use the apps after a change means you accept the updated terms.
